London Christian Academy (LCA) will be holding their 11th annual Solid Foundations fundraising banquet on February 27th, 2016. Amongst a veritable sea of banquets, why should this one matter?

Forty one years ago the Christian Academy of Western Ontario, as LCA was known at inception, began with 32 students and a vision to provide both a Christ focus and excellent academics to children. The aim was to provide an alternative to the secular and humanistic public school system.

The pressure on children in the early seventies, which fuelled the creation of the school, has only magnified in recent times. Despite a world that is increasingly confused, sinful, and hopeless LCA remains true to the vision and the evangelical foundation laid down two generations ago.

LCA students continue to score highly in achievement tests (consistently in the top 25% of elementary schools across the country), and children of the first generation of graduates are now attending the school.

London Christian Academy doesn’t simply insulate children from the difficulties of the world, but teaches them to bring the light of Christ into the world. Outreach programs such as food drives, engaging their neighbour’s on Charles St. and the Riverside Retirement Home, toy drives for refugee children and sponsoring children with Compassion Canada train the children that participating in ministry, both locally and around the world is an integral part of the Christian walk. Testimonies relating to the effectiveness of the efforts of the school can be found at

Whether you are interested in LCA as an alternative for your own children or relatives, or you simply want to experience one of the ways the body of Christ is training up the next generation the Solid Foundations banquet and auction is a great way to support Christian education in London. There will be a wonderful dinner, a silent auction, a very entertaining live auction, and opportunities to engage with staff and parents.

The philosophy of London Christian Academy can be best illustrated by the words of some of the staff: "Jesus Christ is the most important person who ever lived. It follows that educating our children on His principles would be the best place to start an education system. That is what we do."

The Solid Foundations banquet and auction will be held February 27th, 2016 at the Sunningdale Golf & Country Club Doors open at 5:30 pm, and both table sponsorship ($450 for a table of 10) as well as individual tickets are available ($45 each).
