Praying For Hearing (HUMOUR)

This school year we are reflecting on our past with thanksgiving, but also looking ahead in anticipation for what God has planned for LDCSS as a school and also in the lives of our students, our staff and our community. Throughout this school year we have been exploring our anniversary theme: God’s Legacy, God’s Promise, based on Psalm 78:34.

The London & District Christian High School Society was established in 1961 serving London, Woodstock, Stratford, Strathroy, Exeter, St. Thomas, Alymer and surrounding areas. The original school-house at 243 Tremont Road was purchased for $7,500.00. It contained three classrooms – enough space to accommodate fifty students. Tuition was set at $75 for Grade 9 and $100 for Grade 10. London & District Christian High School officially opened on September 7, 1965. At the opening assembly we celebrated the courage, the fortitude and the vision of the founders of LDCSS. Through faith, a committed group of believers dreamed, prayed, planned, saved, and worked together to bring Christian Secondary Education to London and surrounding areas.

Today LDCSS has over 250 students representing a diversity of churches and nationalities. As we look ahead to the next 50 years at LDCSS, we have a lot to be excited about. LDCSS is well positioned to grow and expand over the coming years in all kinds of different ways. The education that we provide is truly unique in the greater London area and we have several areas of strength to build around moving forward. Some of these strengths include a small, personalized education experience for each individual student who passes through our doors, a supportive community of believers in Christian education and a wide range of course offerings in everything from the arts to the sciences to our state of the art wood shop. God has blessed LDCSS and we anticipate even greater blessings as we look ahead!
