This book has helped me sooo much! I don't even know where to begin this review. I usually don't enjoy this type of book. Sure, I've read several, but it's usually not a good, enjoyable experience and something that takes me forever to accomplish. That wasn't true with The Battle Plan for Prayer. I'll admit, it did take me awhile to get into this book, but once I did I thoroughly loved it.

The book is chock-full of helpful prayer guidelines, amazing Bible verses, and lots of inspirational stories that really grabbed and held my interest. The writing was great; it really kept me wanting to read more. And everything mentioned by the Kendrick brothers is backed up with powerful Scripture references.

All in all, this was an amazing book. It has really strengthened my prayer life. I underlined many places and scribbled in the margins. :) If you want to be challenged to grow closer to God, actively seek Him, and strengthen your prayer life, read this book.

I will admit I struggle with prayer, I don't like praying out loud, in front of people even my family. I don't know if its because I'm afraid I will not say the right thing. I have always longed to be able to pray like Beth Moore, Sheila Walsh, Lisa Harper, Lysa TerKeurst, you name it, that is who I wanted my prayer life to be like. In the Battle Plan for Prayer, the Kendrick brothers will show us how to have a powerful prayer life. Guided by scripture we will learn to have a closer relationship with Christ with the words we pray. Prayer should always be the first thing we turn to for attack in all of life's battles.

The Battle Plan for Prayer was inspired by War Room, the Kendrick Brothers new movie. If you are longing for a better prayer life I suggest watching War Room, reading The Battle Plan for Prayer and ladies read Fervent by Priscilla Shrier also. With all these tools that Christ has given us along with His word, we will be ready for Battle.

I highly recommend this book for anyone, young or old, man or woman. You will not be disappointed.

This is such a great book on prayer. It is a companion book for the movie 'The War Room" and really helps to focus in on prayer and how we can be better pray-ers.

The book starts off by explaining the bulls eye symbol used throughout. I really liked this because it helped me to remember the effective steps of praying. I always like visual reminders when I'm learning a new way of doing something and this was very helpful to me.

"The Battle Plan for Prayer" is a very engaging book to read. The focus of the book is primarily on the importance of prayer in our personal lives as well as corporate church lives. However, the majority of the book deals with prayer in a personal level. The book is done in seven parts with multiple chapters in each part. There are a total of 35 chapters, but the chapters are not long to read. The authors do make the recommendation for their readers to commit to reading one chapter per day (5 days per week) and then reading the Bible each day and also pray every day. The book is written very well to accommodate this approach.

I really liked the examples and especially how practical and Biblically based this book is. If you are interested in learning about prayer or how to deepen your relationship with the Lord through prayer, I would HIGHLY recommend this book. The resources in the final part of the book are done exceptionally well also and will be of benefit to me for many years to come.

“Inspired by the Kendrick Brothers’ new movie, War Room, this exciting new resource from the #1 best-selling author team behind The Love Dare and The Resolution for Men is designed to help anyone learn how to become a powerful person of prayer. The Battle Plan for Prayer begins with prayer’s core purpose, its biblical design, and its impact throughout history. Readers will be guided scripturally through the fundamentals of how effective prayer works, inspired towards a closer, more intimate relationship with God, and shown how to develop specific prayer strategies for each area of life.

Prayer can accomplish what a willing God can accomplish. It should be your first plan of attack in all of life’s battles, not your last resort. If you want to experience the joy of mightily answered prayer, then it’s time to engage with God at another level.”

I purchased this book as an addition to my own personal study on Prayer. And I am glad that I did. This is a great book that will help the read to develop their personal prayer life and bring it to a vibrant and effective level.

There are several sections to the book. Included are chapters on the ultimate purpose of prayer, the types of prayer, the postures of prayer, the locks of prayer, the keys of prayer and much more. Other sections include: the Word of God, the will of God, praying offensively, praying preemptively, praying defensively… and a dozen or more chapters too numerous to list here.

If you want to dig deeper and bring your own personal prayer time to an entire new level, this book is the resource for you. If you want to develop your existing church prayer ministry, this is the resource for you. If you are looking for the how-to’s of starting a church prayer ministry, this is the resource for that too.

This book was inspired by the upcoming Kendrick’s brother’s movie “War Room” which is scheduled in fall 2015. I am a fan of other movies by this dynamic and Godly team, I am very much looking forward to this movie!

The Battle Plan for Prayer - From Basic Training to Targeting Strategies by Alex and Stephen Kendrick

"War Room" is the latest movie in the Kendrick Brothers' production to encourage abd educate about God and God's power when we trust.

This book is the written resource to partner with the movie. With its' origin connecting to prayer's core purpose, there is biblical design and its impact throughout time. The Kendrick brothers pen a scriptural guide to promote awareness on how prayer works.

The book resembles an actual battle plan or football playbook. "The Battle Plan" has several sections, and each chapter breaks down prayer from its purpose, the kinds of prayer, and so on.

It is also a book that will help with developing an existing prayer ministry or to start one.

It is a resource book worth diving into.

Wow! Could any book impact my life in a bigger way?! So, I loved the movie, "War Room". When my friend mentioned she was reading "Battle Plan", I suggested we read and talk about it together. Each chapter is short and to the point, but what a lot to think about! Stephen Kendrick is a master at creating images, and his illustrations from answered prayer in his own personal life are astounding. This guy practices what he preaches. The book is divided up into five main sections: Enlistment; Basic Training; Conditioning; Strategies; and Targets. There is a wealth of wonderful information, encouragement, and examples taken directly from the Bible to help anyone who has a personal belief in God have a much more empowered prayer life. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

The best thing I ever did for my prayer life was read this book! Before I always was so hard on myself about praying properly; I spent more time critiquing myself than focusing on building a relationship with our Heavenly Father. After reading this book and being encouraged by the steps they suggested I gradually felt more and more comfortable prayer journaling and found that I spent more time connecting with The Lord on a personal level than ever before. Such a blessing having read this and would recommend it to anyone eager to grow in their relationship with God.

I must admit, I have never been very disciplined in prayer... Which is why I chose to dig into this book. The movie War Room was a great movie and inspired me to be more dedicated in my prayer life. This book does just teaches one to pray. It teaches one to really pray beyond, "God, bless so and so.", or "God, heal them. The Battle Plan for Prayer is a great book for new believers and has the potential to raise up true prayer warriors.

The book is a bit lengthy at 220+ pages and got a bit redundant for my taste, which is why it took me 7 months to complete. (I don't expect that would be the case for most folks) The writing is easy to read and very conversational, broken up into 35 chapters which could be easily read as a daily devotional. The content is very applicable to daily life and there is a practical appendix filled with helpful prayer tools for your toolbox.

Read through this with the women's ministry at my church. It's an excellent resource for anyone new to prayer or anyone who wants to increase their prayer life. The study guides are easy, useful, and helps you to search your thoughts and hearts and be more open to God and your relationship with Christ.
