Summary:

Do you ever feel like Jesus couldn’t possibly know what you are going through? He’s the God of the universe after all! Does he really know your daily struggles? The good news is: he does.

For thirty-three years Jesus felt everything you have ever felt. Weakness. Weariness. Sadness. Rejection. His feet got tired. And his head ached. He was tempted and his strength was tested. And you know why? Because in becoming human, Jesus made it possible for us to see God. His tears, God’s tears. His voice, God’s voice. Want to know what matters to God? Find out what matters to Jesus. Want to know what in the world God is doing? Ponder the words and life of Jesus.

For more than three decades, pastor and bestselling author Max Lucado has shown us Jesus. In this capstone book, he takes us further on the journey to know the life and character of the Savior. Divided into six sections (Immanuel, Friend, Teacher, Miracle Worker, Lamb of God, Returning King), each containing multiple chapters, this book describes both the person Jesus was on earth and how to live in a personal relationship with him.

By exploring Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection as well as specific details like how he interacted with his friends and his enemies, what he did with time alone, how he acted at a party, this compilation from Max Lucado—now with original never-before-read content from Max—gives readers the chance to become more familiar with the man at the center of the greatest story ever told.

Max writes “Don’t settle for a cursory glance or a superficial understanding. Look long into the heart of Christ and you’ll see it. Grace and life. Forgiveness of sin. The defeat of death. This is the hope he gives.”

Jesus wants you to know him. As you read these pages, may the Hero of all history talk to you personally, and may you find in him the answer to your deepest needs.

I love Max's books! Reading them for me is like sitting across from Max and having conversation!! He takes a tough subject and makes it so down to earth and understandable. I am on the launch team so we have just read the first 4 chapters received, and I can not wait to read the rest of the book.

One of the things that stood out to me is that Jesus came from His throne in Heaven for me, and for you. It's a personal thing.....not a religious thing.

I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read about Jesus and getting to know Him

I am just a couple chapters in but already loving it. Lucado writes in such a way that it really connects you with the topic and makes it easier to understand. I love the personal anecdotes he includes which make him so relatable too. Another must read from my favorite author!

While I am still in the process of reading, I am loving this book! True to his style, Max Lucado personally connects you with the topic. I always love the personal anecdotes that allow him to reach the hearts of so many. This book is no exception. Max always helps us appreciate that our spiritual growth and development is a personal experience, and no two will be the same. By taking in his words and meditating on his message, along with the Scriptures, we can continue to strengthen our faith and relationship with our Heavenly Father. This is a must read for all, especially those looking to better understand and grow their relationship with Jesus!

Currently a few chapters in, and I am thoroughly enjoying and appreciating the perspective of a REAL Jesus - not just one who is God, above all else, and reigns in heaven, but One who became human, lived our human life, understands our struggles and yet overcame. Our Jesus, our God, is able to relate to us, in all our struggles, in all our weakness. What a fresh and inspiring way to view our God! Thanks Max! Can't wait to finish!

Max Lucado, once again has authored a book for everyone to grow in their faith. "Jesus, The God Who Know Your Name", lets us know Jesus: Immanuel, Friend, Teacher, Miracle Worker, Lamb of God, and Returning King. This book will touch your heart - why - Max Lucado writes: "He knows you." "Jesus came to be near you." "I am with you', Jesus said." "He did it for you. Just for you." Short and simple quotes - but oh how they do touch your heart!

Rebecca Lane rated Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name a 5 out of 5 Stars
I’m part of the Launch Team and had read the first four chapters of a pre-release of the book. I received my book on Monday and could not put it down. As always this is another BEST of Max Lucado!!! The book is so down to earth and reaffirms how much Jesus really loves us. I have several favorite quotes but the one that really touched my heart is “I am with you always,” Jesus said before he ascended to heaven, “to the very end of the age” (Matt. 28:20). Search for restrictions on the promise; you’ll find none. You won’t find “I’ll be with you if you behave . . . when you believe. I’ll be with you on Sundays in worship . . . at mass.” No, none of that. There’s no withholding tax on God’s “with” promise. He is with us."

I love this!! It comforts me, well actually the whole book has given me a Peace, that I really need. YOU CAN GET YOUR BOOK in late Now!!! Order your copy now. Who doesn’t want to curl up with the new book from Max?? I love ALL of his books and they just keep getting better

I received an advanced copy of the first 4 chapters of Jesus, The God Who Knows Your Name. So far this book has challenged me to get to know the character of Jesus more. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book in the future!

As always, Max provides insights I can use on a daily basis, in language that's easy to understand.

Miranda Flagg rated Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name a 5 out of 5 Stars
I love Max's books. I was on the launch team for his "How Happiness Happens" book and absolutely loved it. I definitely ordered a physical copy of that book and this one is no different. When I found out there was a new book launch for Jesus: The God Who Knows Our Name I knew I wanted to be apart of it. Max Lucado has a way of explaining some tough subjects and making them relatable and understandable. I love how intimate the reading feels and how easily it flows. I read the first 4 chapters that we received as being apart of the launch team for this book in just over an hour and I wished I had the rest of the book to keep reading. I have pre-ordered this book and I cannot wait for it to come out on the 21st! I will absolutely keep reading books from Max and doing the amazing bible studies.

Zacarias Rivera, Jr. rated Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name a 5 out of 5 Stars
This is another book by Max Lucado, that will not disappoint. I have read many of his books in the past. I have only read the first four chapters so far, as a launch team member. So far, it is extraordinary. In his inimitable writing style, applicable illustrations, and word pictures (imagery), he addresses the events that transpired in the beginning of the Incarnation: the angelic visitations, the birth of Jesus, and how Mary and Joseph must have felt.

Lucado reminds us through his exegesis that Jesus was 100% human, that He experienced all that we as humans experience, in order to sympathize with our human condition.

I highly recommend that you read it

Dee Cocina rated Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name a 5 out of 5 Stars
I am on the launch team for this book and have read the first two sections from the pre-release. I have read many of Max Lucados books. In this book Max shared beautiful ways that show how much Jesus really loves us. This book was a delight to read and I looking forward to finishing it when my hard copy arrives.

Alan Meyer rated Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name a 5 out of 5 Stars
I have read section 1 which is all that is available at the moment

A God who chooses to walk in your shoes. Who is with you every monet, especially when you are in crisis. Hard to get your arms around a God that loves you so much, he would give away everything we normally value just to be with us for eternity.

Max has a way of painting visual pictures to drive home his thought. From a goldfish in a bowl to a close up view of a conversation the angel Gabriel has with himself, it all brings an understanding to the reader of how profound the action of God are.
