I rarely read nonfiction and when I do it is Christian. Dr. David Jeremiah is one of my must read authors. He is an expert in end time prophecy. His books are always easy to understand and retain. This book is for Christians and non Christians. Highly recommend.

This took me a little bit to get through. I honestly didn't start to get into it and enjoy it until the second half of the book. Once I reached about 55%, I couldn't put it down. I found this to be biblically sound, which was very refreshing. It was full of scripture references, and the author used scripture to back up scripture so that he was not simply stating his personal opinions and beliefs. The author explained the coming of Christ in a way that was very easy to understand for those that may have questions or are unsure of what will happen but also went a step further for those who like to dig a little deeper. This was very well written so as not to be confusing or too theological. This was my first experience with any of Dr. Jeremiah's work, and I look forward to reading more in the future.

I have been reading and listening to Dr. David Jeremiah for years. He has done significant work in studying and writing about the rapture over the years. This book is no exception. He's clear on the urgency we need to have to be rapture ready. Once our lives here are over we don't get a redo. It's convicting and promising. He explains with great detail about what we can expect and answers questions everyone has or should have about the end times. I appreciate his clarity and not losing sight of the true hope we have.

Another great prophetic book by Dr. Jeremiah. He has a writing style that is easy to read and understand. Explains the events to come and shows what will happen and where it is written in the Bible. I would recommend anything by David Jeremiah.

One of my favorites non fiction authors. David Jeremiah cuts to the chase and helps me to understand the Bible better. In this book The Great Disappearance he guides us to a better knowledge of the Rapture of the Church. Books by Dr. Jeremiah have definitely helped me understand and better my walk with my Lord and Savior.

A great books explaining the rapture. He gives scripture references that are handy to check his theology.

I am such a fan of Dr. Jeremiah’s Christian books. He’s always able to explain a topic by including real world examples with the relevant scriptures to back up those examples along with his opinions. He also doesn’t tell you only what he thinks, he adds commentary from other pastors and biblical writers to assist in solidifying the point. Even if you’re not well versed in the subject, he makes it easy to understand.

In Dr. Jeremiah’s newest book he goes into detail about the Rapture, tribulation period and the millennium. He explains what each phase of the end times is and how not to be afraid of what’s to come. He doesn’t preach at you, he talks to you like the two of you were already in communication. He provides you with clear and concise information that’s easy to follow and understand. Dr. Jeremiah uses this subject to inform, encourage and prepare us for the coming day of the Rapture.

Some of his chapters are repetitive if you’re already versed in the subject. If some of this is new to you or you’re not overly familiar, his repetitiveness helps to drill the matter and you’ll feel like an expert by the end of the book. If you don’t know Christ, this a great book to introduce you to Him and the Rapture without scaring you or overwhelming you. Dr. Jeremiah writes with kindness, respect and vast knowledge.

Did you know that 62 of the 66 books of the Bible contain predictive information? That's a significant amount and Dr. David Jeremiah uses that information to explain epic events to come, specifically the Rapture of the church and the Second Coming of Christ.

Dr. Jeremiah's explanations are easy to understand. There aren't any complicated timelines and colored charts because this isn't a play by play of the End Times. It reads more like someone is simply sharing what he has learned. He shares Scriptures and the consistency of God's character to explain why he believes what he believes.

This is a much needed book. It's a simple and powerful reminder that in a twinkling of an eye your life could change and how it changes will depend on your relationship with Christ. Read Dr. Jeremiah's The Great Disappearance to understand more of the Bible's truths and how you can be ready for the Rapture.

A solid introduction to the rapture and end times, and a great reminder to keep proper perspective and priorities. If you’ve already done some serious study in this area, you probably won’t get much out of this book, but it’s a good starting place for those looking to peer into Revelation for the first time.

I like the content but feel he could be a bit more concise. There are a few too many stories of random people and events loosely relating to the topic at hand. I suppose it’s an attempt to keep the reader engaged, but to me it just felt like filler. When I read a book on prophecy, I’m looking for content not entertainment… But I’m quite sure there are others who would disagree on that, so don’t let me deter you.

He explains much of the end time prophesies clearly and concisely. Prophecy is pervasive throughout Scripture, and studying it helps us prepare for the days ahead and gives us courage in chaotic times.

The author poorly exegeted scripture (hardly unpacked any of the passages he said were relevant), used much circular reasoning and started the book with the assumption that his eschatological view was the correct view, yet didn’t really take the time to explain how he got there. Until the last quarter of the book, there were more pages devoted to stories from the last 100 years of history than there were to explaining relevant passages. If you’re looking for a solid book to help you understand the scriptural evidence for a pre tribulation rapture, this isn’t it.

One of Dr. David Jeremiah’s greatest works yet! The Great Disappearance discusses the Rapture and the events leading up to and surrounding it. Dr. Jeremiah interweaves various stories, current events and God’s holy Word to bring clarity to what is often a difficult and confusing topic for many. He offers readers 31 ways to be Rapture ready.

I found myself not wanting to put this book down as it was both interesting and informative, especially in today’s tumultuous times. I am sure it is one that I will want to go back and reference again and again. Not only has this book instilled in me a greater sense of anticipation and expectation of things to come, it has underscored the need for all believers to be Rapture ready.

I have enjoyed the teaching and writing of Dr. David Jeremiah for many years and found that he consistently presents solid Biblical information that is easy to understand.

This book describes in detail exactly what to expect when Jesus returns to rapture those who have chosen to be Christ followers, including those who have died in Christ and those that are still be here. Every detail given, is back by a scripture reference. The urgency to make a decision for Christ is expressed as the timing of the rapture is unknown to man, however, when considering what is currently happening in the world, it is a good assumption that it could be soon. We are reminded that God’s timing is different from ours.

Following the rapture is the seven years known as the Tribulation. That period is all laid out in detail regarding the circumstances those left behind will face.

Biblical prophecy is confusing to many; however, this is a must read to anyone who desires to understand more clearly what is to come. It brings great comfort knowing what to expect.

Ah, the warning that will never cease: Jesus is returning. Any. Day. Now. Any century? Any millennium? Dr. David Jeremiah has made a cottage industry selling books to hype the end times; one best-seller after another. The Great Disappearance: 31 Ways to be Rapture Ready has been topping charts since it came out, and pulling in a lot of money. Add this to 2022's After the Rapture: An End Times Guide to Survival, or The World of the End: How Jesus' Prophecy Shapes Our Priorities (also 2022), 2021's Where Do We Go from Here?: How Tomorrow's Prophecies Foreshadow Today's Problems, 2020's The Handwriting on the Wall: Secrets from the Prophecies of Daniel, or 2019's The Book of Signs: 31 Undeniable Prophecies of the Apocalypse. You get the idea. Also, this book does not contain 31 ways to be Rapture ready. There are 31 chapters, but they are in no way organized to match the subtitle.

Dr. Jeremiah (it's an honorary doctorate, so the title is... doctored) proudly states his academic connection to Hal Lindsey, who wrote The Late Great Planet Earth in 1970. He mentions that it sold over 35 million copies, and that it "brought the message of biblical prophecy into everyday conversation". What he does not mention is that Lindsey stated the world would end before December 31, 1988. It's 50+ years after that book, and no Jesus yet, but that doesn't stop 94-year-old Lindsey from running his end times ministry. Jeremiah won't fall for that trap, though... he avoids the old mistake of stating a date Jesus will return. As Jesus says in Matthew 24, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." Never mind that Jesus, who's also supposed to be God, lacks knowledge that the Father has. Everyone else seems to ignore that just fine.

None of this is new. Every generation brings ministers proclaiming these are the last days. That's why the Mormons are "Latter Day Saints". William Miller said Jesus would return by early 1844, and then adjusted to a later 1844 date that is known as "The Great Disappointment". One of his followers, Ellen White, founded the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Charles Taze Russell claimed Jesus would return by 1874, then 1914... and then 1918. His followers went on to become the Jehovah's Witnesses. I just read another book called The Second Coming of Christ, by Aimee Semple McPherson, founder of the Foursquare Church. She also knew the signs proclaimed Christ's return was imminent. That was in 1921. If you want more examples going back to the beginning of Christianity, I recommend Jonathan Kirsch's A History of the End of the World.

David Jeremiah lacks any perspective about this, and falls into the trap of assuming all scripture is pointing to this generation, gladly repeating that the end is imminent. The book was promoted by this trailer, slick and fit for a film launch, that depicts people disappearing from scenes of modern day life. It's sad to see all this effort wasted. Wasted breath, wasted money, wasted time in this one life we get to live.

Interesting book focused on the rapture. Many scripture references, although very readable/"light." Over the years I have heard convincing reasons why the rapture could happen either before the Tribulation, mid-Trib, or post-Trib. Jeremiah takes the pre-Trib stance and defends it, but I wished he could have also gone into why adherents of other beliefs believed those things, and defended his view against those.

Jeremiah is clearly a pastor; each chapter begins with a story/anecdote much like a sermon. He takes a pre-Trib rapture as a given, early on writing "Because the Rapture will be the initiating event of the Tribulation ... we can say with some certainty that this return of our Lord Jesus will be the catalyst that commences the End Times."

I liked his discussion of heaven being an actual, physical place ("I go to prepare a PLACE for you"). "Jesus does not intend for us to live in a vapory nether land, in a disembodied haze, or in a blissful but intangible state of mind."

I also liked his thoughts on why the Lord is seeming, in our minds, to delay his return. "If Jesus had come in the year 500, or in the year 1500, or if He had come in, say, 1875, none of us would have yet been born ... none of us would have been caught up in the Rapture, and none of us would have been resurrected." Good thought!

I liked his discussion of Revelation 3:10, which states "I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth." He makes much of the Lord saying he'll keep us FROM (not through) the hour of trial. This seems like a valid point. Another good point is that the phrase "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches" is repeated at the end of each message in early Revelation, to the various churches. However, in Revelation chapter 13, midway through the Tribulation, we read "If anyone has an ear, let him hear." No mention of the church -- a sign that it has been raptured?

Very readable book written in a comforting way but still urging any readers who aren't Christians to accept Christ while there is still time. The subtitle "31 ways to be rapture ready" is silly; the chapters are just covering various aspects of the end times rather than being "ways to be ready."

He makes a pretty convincing case for a pre-Trib rapture. Now I want to read up on the other viewpoints and see what I think after that :)

Many people avoid studying biblical prophecy because they believe it is confusing, or perhaps because they believe it is largely irrelevant for their everyday lives. But in “The Great Disappearance: 31 Ways to Be Rapture Ready”. Pastor and author David Jeremiah makes the case why every person alive should come to grips with the sure and certainly plan of God for the end of the ages.

David Jeremiah is as clear a writer as I have ever read, and he has spent his adult life studying prophecy. Jeremiah is also a gifted communicator, and he demonstrates the heart of a Pastor because his desire to communicate clearly is evident throughout the book. While this book is written at a popular level, every student of God’s Word can profit from what is written here.

The author takes pains not to make this book a dry study of theology (although I do not know how the study of God and His plan could ever be dry). To do this, Jeremiah weaves in stories and personal observations that give context and life to the points he is making. The book is also comprehensive without veering into the overly academic. This is not an easy balance to achieve, but Jeremiah handled it with aplomb.

This book will inform you about the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming, and it will provide you with hope as you look forward to Christ’s imminent return for his Bride. Happy reading!

Of the 66 books in the Bible, I never realized that 62 of them contain prophetic verses. There is also a blessing bestowed upon those who read prophecy. Revelation 1:3 states, "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near." The present chaos in our world gives further indication that Christ's return is eminent. Dr. David Jeremiah's writing style draws the reader into the pages. The use of literacy devices, such as alliteration enabled the reader to grasp points made as God's Word is expounded. Jeremiah inserts historical examples, human interest stories and humor help clarify truths and draw the reader into the text. If you have shied away from prophecy and reading books of the Bible like Revelation, I encourage you to read this book. Not only will you be blessed, but you will be informed. Your fears will be replaced by the peace of God and your fervor to share the gospel with those around you will be intensified.
