Refuge Ministries Canada supports youth as they are transitioning into the community upon their release from custody. This is accomplished by focusing on the following areas:
- One-on-one mentoring before, and, after release.
- Being their first point of contact with referrals to places of support
to have their identified needs met in London, and, across Canada.
- Providing release kits of essential personal items.
- Equipping churches/individuals interested in this type of work
through presentations, and, a one hour prison ministry training seminar.
- Holding youth custody chapel services.
This year, a new Refuge Ministries Canada office location was
opened to allow greater visibility and access to youth who need help.
The office is located at Unit 7-920 Leathorne Street, London, ON,
N3Z 3M5. The office is open from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday, and, also has a Toll Free Support Line (1-833-586-0523).
In early May 2020, Refuge Freedom Stories began broadcasting a radio show and podcast called ‘Refuge Freedom Stories’ sharing stories of real lives changed by the Power of God on a number of radio stations across Canada. The show currently reaches a potential listening audience of 2M people, and, can be heard each week from coast to coast in Canada on the following radio stations:

Refuge Freedom Stories is hosted by Dave Shearer, and, produced by Jon Taverner.
In June 2020, the first podcast was aired, and, the podcasts have since been downloaded almost 2000 times in various locations including all Canadian provinces, across a number of states from coast to coast in the USA, and, as far away as Mexico, Costa Rica, South Africa, Kenya, Seychelles, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Russia, Pakistan, Thailand, Australia, and, New Zealand.
