After an uncertain fifteen months, Forest Cliff Camp is excited to host campers in-person again. While Forest Cliff’s overnight camp remains closed due to the pandemic, Forest Cliff’s Day Camps are ready to kick off in July at seven locations across Southwestern Ontario.
Founded in 1939, Forest Cliff Camp is a charitable organization that has hosted generations of happy campers at our overnight camp location in Lambton Shores, just 50 minutes west of London on Lake Huron. Starting in 2015, we launched day camp programs to provide camp experiences closer to home for our camper families.
Alongside host partner churches, we bring a unique brand of day camp activity to the church’s community for a week. We specialize in high energy fun, larger than life activities and well-trained staff that create unforgettable life changing camp experiences that encourage campers to grow in relationship with Jesus.
Forest Cliff’s mobile day camp teams are fully staffed with secondary and post-secondary students and travel between host partner church locations with all the gear needed to keep our campers smiling, dancing and having fun all day long. Campers love our 24-foot climbing towers, inflatable obstacle courses, archery games and so many more fun activities. Each day brings a new opportunity for our caring staff to share an aspect of the Gospel and demonstrate Jesus’ message of love, forgiveness and hope.
This summer we are redesigning our mobile day camps to ensure a safe and fun experience for over 1400 campers in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic. The Ministry of Health and local Public Health authorities have set specific guidance for Day Camps to open and we are ready to meet or exceed each guideline.
With months of planning and preparation coming to an end, we are confident that our Day Camps will be an environment that parents trust to be both safe and fun for their kids this summer. With schools being closed since April, children are more than ready to get out of the house and parents are keen to see their kids be part of normal summer activities like sports and day camps.
Use of masks by both campers and staff, cohorting of groups, regular cleaning, a focus on outdoor activities and encouraging distancing between participants are all measures being taken to prevent and control transmission of the novel coronavirus at Forest Cliff Day Camps this summer. As Ontario enters new phases of the Reopening Ontario Framework we anticipate that some of the measures may be lessened.
With our Day Camps already at over 95% reserved, we are even more excited about our overnight camp programs to return in 2022 so we can meet the demand of our camper families that are excited to catch up on all the campfires, days at the beach and new friendships that have been missed over the past two summers.
