On Monday, June 26, 2023, London mourned the passing of Randy Collins, a remarkable businessman, and philanthropist, who breathed his last at the age of 77 at London’s University Hospital. Randy's life was a testament to his unyielding spirit, having "fought the good fight and finished the race." Husband of Audrey (Couture) Collins and father of Charles, Rebecca, and Gordon, he was also a beloved grandfather to three grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to three more. Randy's presence touched the lives of many, including his siblings, extended family, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy Collins firmly believed in the philosophy that "Every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father." He considered his wife, Audrey, his family, and the numerous successful businesses he established, acquired, and nurtured as divine blessings. His journey began as a farmer in Essex County and Huron County, but his true passion lay in retail. Together with Audrey, he founded Hully Gully in Varna, ON, and over the next 52 years, the business thrived, serving over 100,000 customers. Randy's guiding principles for the enterprise were simple but profound: "have fun" and "treat others as you would like to be treated." He took immense pleasure in personally engaging with customers, both new and returning, fostering lasting relationships.

However, Randy Collins was more than just a successful businessman; he was a beacon of generosity in the community. Countless charitable organizations benefited from his philanthropy, receiving both direct financial support and involvement in annual events like the motorcycle Freedom Ride and the Fall Colour Ride, which raised significant funds for the Children's Health Foundation. He also played a pivotal role in creating handicapped accessible children's playgrounds and supporting various religious and secular initiatives in London and its surroundings.

Randy's devotion to his faith was deeply ingrained in his character. He supported the ministry of Promise Keepers (now Impactus) as a board member, having recognized its significance in shaping men’s Christian values. Not limiting himself to formal organizations, he personally led a weekly accountability men's group, where for over 30 years, he both provided guidance and received support from fellow Christian men.

Additionally, Randy was actively involved in Faithville Gospelcast Productions, a Christian ministry close to his heart, where he served as the Chair of the Board for many years. His support and service extended to several churches in the London area, as well as organizations like the Christian Churches Network of London. Also, he chaired the finance committee to raise funds in support of recent Will Graham’s “London Celebration.”

Randy Collins' professional journey was a remarkable tale of expansion and diversification. Hully Gully, which began as a small snowmobile rental operation, evolved into a 60,000 sq. ft. lifestyle showroom, technical repair and parts facility known as "The Ultimate Toy Store."From snowmobiles and Motocross events to marine sales and accessories, Randy expanded the business to include products and services catering to the powersport and marine industries. His commitment to providing family-friendly service and adhering to strong values created a thriving and beloved business in the community.

Despite his business successes, Randy remained a humble and down-to-earth individual. His warmth and enthusiasm were evident in the various events hosted by Hully Gully. The Collins family's dedication to the motorsport industry made them one of the Top 100 dealers in North America and earned them the prestigious Dealernews “Dealer of the Year” award.

As London and its surrounding regions bid farewell to this extraordinary businessman and philanthropist, Randy Collins' legacy lives on through the charitable organizations he supported, the businesses he established, and the lives he touched through his unwavering faith and generosity. The impact of his contributions will be felt for generations to come, as his family, friends, and the community carry on his support for much-needed ministries and charitable endeavors in the region as the businesses he founded continue to thrive. Randy's life truly exemplified the spirit of success, compassion, and devotion to both secular and religious pursuits.
"This is such difficult news to absorb. Randy seemed invincible and larger than life. I am still trying to imagine life without this incredible go-getter." - Barry Slauenwhite, Executive Director, Christian Churches Network of London
